About Wichard Assessment & Development

Mission
Wichard Assessment & Development brings clarity to complex situations in which behavior, responsibility and collaboration are central. Through psychological expertise, we support individuals, teams and organizations in understanding behavior and strengthening professional conduct, communication and decision-making.

Vision
We believe that sustainable development emerges when people have insight into themselves and the context in which they work. Effective professional practice requires balance between thinking, feeling and acting, particularly in situations involving pressure, tension and moral considerations. Psychology provides direction, depth and support in this process.

Strategy
Our approach is grounded in solid content and practical applicability. We combine psychological assessments, individual guidance, interim behavioral expertise, coaching, training and team development to make growth concrete and workable. We work independently and with sensitivity to context, taking cultural and organizational differences into account and tailoring our approach to what is needed and sustainable in practice.
Sandra Wichard is a psychologist and the founder of Wichard Assessment & Development. She studied psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in clinical child and adolescent psychology, educational and developmental psychology, and forensic psychology. This broad foundation forms the basis of her work.
Since 2018, Sandra has worked as an independent psychologist in the Caribbean and beyond. She conducts psychological assessments and Pro Justitia evaluations, serves as an interim behavioral expert, and supports professionals, teams, and organizations operating in complex and high-responsibility contexts. In her work, she connects individual dynamics, team processes, and organizational interests, approaching issues with a clear overview and an integrated perspective.
Sandra has extensive experience across judicial, administrative, and social sectors in Curaçao, Bonaire, and Aruba. She also designs and delivers training programmes, team development sessions, and coaching trajectories focused on professional performance, communication skills, and managing emotions and pressure.
Alongside her practice, Sandra shares her expertise as a speaker and author, including the book Partner Violence in the Caribbean. She works professionally in Dutch, English, and Papiamentu.
Sandra is known for her calm, incisive, and independent approach, with a strong ability to analyse complex situations and distil them to their essence, always with attention to the individual, the context, and responsibility.
Decision Accountability Framework (DAF)
For complex professional decisions, Wichard Assessment & Development works with the Decision Accountability Framework (DAF).
DAF is an internal decision framework that helps professionals clearly and traceably record the key considerations behind a decision. It makes explicit what was known at the time, which considerations were relevant, and how uncertainty was addressed. DAF does not prescribe outcomes and does not replace existing rules, methods, or legal frameworks.
The framework is broadly applicable. DAF can be used for any professional decision where responsibility, impact, or transferability matters — from everyday choices to decisions with far-reaching consequences.
Examples of situations in which DAF is applied include:
- a decision that affects others
- a decision that may later need to be questioned or explained
- an assessment involving multiple interests or perspectives
- a decision made under time pressure or with incomplete information
- a decision that is transferred to a colleague or successor
DAF brings calm and clarity to decision-making by capturing what matters at the right moment, ensuring that decisions remain understandable over time.
